I have it fitted into an HP/Compaq Presario desktop PC It has the Socket 939 fitting, and is running an AMD Athlon 64 processor (Brilliant CPU!) My sister used it for 9 years with Windows XP, and I've had it since January.. it's now running Linux It's ATI RS482- and SB400-based I've been trying to find out whether there are any BIOS updates available for it, but CANNOT find ANY reference to it on the site.. During my sister's nine years with it, all she did with it was shop on Amazon, and play 'The Sims'; it's in virtually as new condition, and does everything that I want it to do.. Back again that long ago it usually happened that a bis for AMD procssors would notice a strange and unknown central processing unit and boot credit reporting cpu unknown and seem to function fine.. That board is not MSI's responsibility and never was as its a OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) board so was just produced by MSI as a order to HP's specs (Its like lets say Corsair Power supply's the OEM's on them are Seasonic (OEM) or Flextronic (OEM) who made them but its corsair who services them not the OEM who made the items) its a relatively common thing so you need to contact HP as its there Responsibility to update the BIOS to add support for other items as it runs there own custom firmware and MSI was just used as a Board Production Supplier for them for a order they placed..
